The intention of this creative photography fundraising competition, which is being held in honour of our friend Tracy Edwards, is to raise as much money as possible for her favourite charity, Shooting Stars Cancer Support, in Wrexham.

It is simply meant to be challenging, fun, creative plus an opportunity to build meaningful, supportive friendships.  Just as Tracy enjoyed and would have wanted to continue.

Enter to experience a beautifully styled competitive photoshoot event that includes an array of eclectic and handmade props to assist your creative storytelling.  Enter your best image into the Tracy Edwards Challenge cup 2026 for a chance to win!

Individual 30 minute time slots will be available to book starting at 10am and finishing at 4pm.

If you wish to enter, simply get in touch with me so that I can send you a link to choose your time slot. Terms and Conditions will apply at the time of booking and paying your £75 entry fee that includes 1 entry into the competition! If you would like to submit more than one entry, you may do so for an additional fee. All proceeds will go to Tracy’s chosen charity, Shooting Stars Cancer Support, Wrexham.

Heather Burns

4 Times Master Craftsman, Judge, Mentor, Panel Member and Speaker

Heather Burns is a 4x Master Craftsman, Judge, Mentor and Panel Member with the Guild of Photographers. She is also very proud to be an Official Volunteer Digital Retoucher for Remember My Baby.

Passionate about inspiring others to ‘think out of the box’ and push their photography as far as their imagination will allow.

Fiona McKean

FSWPP, LMPA 

Fiona is a highly experienced photographer who is passionate about capturing lifelong memories for families.

Fiona is a guest speaker at the 2026 Convention for the Society of Photographers, 14-17 January, London as well as being a Judge and Mentor.

Fellow of the Societies of Photographers Guild of Photographers Master Craftsman, Judge, Speaker and Mentor.

Emma Campbell

Master Craftsman, Panel Member, Judge and Mentor with the Societies of Photographers

Emma has over 30 years of experience as a professional photographer, specialising in equine portraiture. She was one of the first in the UK to be awarded by The Guild of Photographers, a Master Craftsman for Equine Photography and her work covers the whole of the UK.

In 2024, Emma became a Panel Member, Judge and Mentor with The Guild of Photographers. She has also judged for ClickMasters Live and for The British Photography Awards.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Included in your 30 minute time slot is 5 minutes to set yourself and your gear up, 15 minutes shooting the models as you wish, 5 minutes to pack up and 5 minutes for Julie to tidy up and welcome the next photographer. And for the girls to have a breather!

  • Your entry fee of £75 INCLUDES one entry into the competition. You can choose to enter a further three images at an additional cost of £10 each. Each photographer has an opportunity to enter up to 4 images in total. Additional entry costs will be due separately at the time of submission.

  • We are hoping that the final deadline for images to be submitted will be within 2 weeks from the date of the event, giving you lots of time to choose your best images and edit them. Actual deadline to be confirmed.

  • Simply let Julie know that you’d like to enter. A link will be sent to you with the available time slots, the booking Terms and Conditions, Rules of the Competition and information about how to prepare your images for submission. And of course, the details for payment.

  • Absolutely not. We support the development of our own artistry by using our own imagination, minds and hands so whilst we appreciate Photoshop is incredibly advanced, we would prefer human post-production. Using Ai and applying keywords for content generation is not what this competition is about. It is a celebration of our own artistry and in memory of a fellow creative photographer.

  • Squeeze as much quality time out of your 15-minute shooting time! Being well prepared in advance will save you lots of time and ensure your 15 minutes is organised and successfully executed. I will send you a moodboard (depending on whether you’ve chosen the morning theme or afternoon), a breakdown of costumes, backdrops, accessories and props available to use. So, I’ll give you the canvas and you’ll use your imagination to tell your unique story!

  • You are in with a chance to win the Tracy Edwards Challenge Cup for Creative Photography 2026. Your winning image will also be professionally printed and mounted. Runners-up will also have their work printed professionally. Most importantly, you will be helping to raise money for the Shooting Stars Cancer Support Charity in Wrexham who cared so magnificently for Tracy in so many ways.

  • Our head Judge, Heather Burns will make the final decision. We are in the process of inviting two other professional UK Judges to assist Heather. All participants will be invited to a private online Zoom party where the images will have a gentle appraisal by our panel of expert judges and the talented winners will be revealed! Lots of good fun which I am sure Tracy would have loved!!

  • If you need to cancel or amend your place for any reason, you may 'sell' it on to another photographer yourself, who will abide by the competition rules and terms and conditions. All entries are non-refundable due to the nature of this charity event.

    It is really important that you are on time! If you are late, you will lose those minutes, so please do ensure you do your best to stick to the timeline and timing guidelines, which will be sent to you when you book. As this is a timed event it is imperative you are not late! Don’t forget there is a cafe downstairs if you wish to arrive early.
